How products are selected

We prioritize products with meaningful search demand, broad availability, clear official specifications, and relevance to common buying decisions. The current focus is phones, laptops, GPUs, and headphones.

Where specifications come from

We research manufacturer pages, official press materials, product manuals, and major retailers such as Apple, Samsung, Google, Best Buy, Amazon, B&H, Newegg, and brand stores. Product pages use three source states: no published official product reference; an official product or support reference without field-level coverage; or field-level citations. A listed product reference confirms the product or support page, not every listed specification. Prices are reference prices and should be checked before purchase.

Manufacturer specifications and manuals are preferred. When a manufacturer-hosted page cannot be reached reliably, a named major retailer or carrier may be used for the fields its published specification table directly supports. The publisher is disclosed in the source panel, the reason is recorded in the product's source note, and unsupported configurations remain unbadged rather than inheriting that citation.

How to read data status labels

A Source cited label means the field is covered by a published citation. Estimated means an editorial approximation, and Varies by configuration means that a model, region, or storage tier can change the result. Needs confirmation marks a field that needs a direct source. Every published specification receives one of these explicit states. New or migrated fields default to Needs confirmation until editorial review supports a stronger label.

The source panel names any reference that is only a product reference as Product reference only. In that state, every specification remains editorial reference data until a source is tied to the individual field. A green source-coverage notice appears only when at least one field-level citation exists.

How scores are calculated

Each category uses a weighted score model. Phones emphasize camera, battery, display, performance, software support, and value. Laptops emphasize performance, battery, portability, display, keyboard, and value. GPUs emphasize 1440p gaming, 4K gaming, ray tracing, efficiency, and price-to-performance. Headphones emphasize ANC, sound, comfort, battery, call quality, and value.

Unless a page explicitly says otherwise, scores are editorial estimates based on public data and market positioning. They are not lab measurements.

How rankings are updated

Rankings are reviewed when major new products launch, pricing changes materially, or a product becomes hard to buy. Each ranking page shows an updated date so readers can judge freshness.

Affiliate links

Product data may include manufacturer or retailer links. Snowyme may add affiliate links in the future. Any affiliate relationship should not change product scores, ranking order, or buying conclusions.
